“FDA has announced that recalls of yellowfin/ahi tuna supplied by Truong Phu Xanh Co., LTD of Vietnam have not effectively removed potentially harmful products from the market and be contaminated by Scombroid. Scombrotoxin fish poisoning can occur when fish is not properly chilled or preserved and begins to spoil, resulting... in increased histamine levels. Histamine cannot be destroyed by freezing or cooking.
Tuna from this supplier is still within its shelf life and could have been sold thawed or frozen ground tuna meat, poke cubes, steaks, or loins. The following companies imported tuna from Truong Phu Xanh Co., LTD:

“The FDA announced that frozen Yellowfin Tuna Medallions products are subject to a recall by Northern Fisheries LTD because of the potential of causing scombroid fish poisoning. The recall notice does not specify the amount of recalled products.
FDA advises consumers not to consume the recalled products and discard them... immediately. The products were distributed in CT, MI, MN, RI, and WI under the "Tuna King" brand.

“Bought Tuna steaks on sale 8/10/19 got scombroid fish food poisoning. Within minutes of eating lips felt swollen and entire mouth felt burnt. Face flushed, red and hot 30 minutes later. 2 hours later everything in my stomach was liquified and emptied. Hoping that’s all.
This is caused by tuna... not being kept at proper temperature. ”

“Had a wedding dinner on the 20th of october 2018. During that time of the date somewhere between 9pm-9.30pm had a stomachache that is excruciating. It felt like i drank milk(lactose intolerant) kind of pain. Thought maybe do some no.2(go poo poo) would make it better. But i was wrong... and felt very unpleasent with myself after doing no.2. Felt very unwell so i decided to go home straight from the event. Upon almost arriving home i suddenly exploded with vomit during my drive back home. Luckily i manage to park on the road side to avoid congestion to the traffic. While the car is parked. I continue vomitting nonstop for 4 episodes of it. Wondering wat was going on that time why i vomit suddenly. No kore second thoughts. So i immediately drove back home because i was near to my house already at that time. So i continue driving with the stains on the car. Upon reach just infeont of the house i felt weak and continue vomiting nonstop. Another 3 episodes of it. But this time it came out blood. Body was getting weak and weaker manage to call my wife out of the house in need of help.. Fwlt so helpless and weak already at that time. My sister and my wife immediately rushed my to the hospital right after cleaning me at home. Landed in the emergency room with the help of some nurses and doctors. Not sure how many and who was it. I only know this by the sound of their voices. I was trembling and felt like suffocating at that time. Not sure wat was the time maybe it was 10.40pm at that time. So the doctor continue with their jobs to find out wat was wrong with me. After waking up at nearly 2am. Im already on a wheelchair and the nurse is pushing me to a ward. The next morning the doctor gave me the answer to me that i was diagnosed with scromboid poisoning. ”

“My, husband, me and my son were flying back from vacation in Florida on 3/24/19. We arrived at the Nashville, TN Airport and were hungry. We went to food place but they were out of breakfast sandwiches. My son said, "let's go to here. So we did. My son ordered... a chicken, egg and cheese biscuit. When he opened it the egg was missing. We went to the counter and they told us to keep the sandwich and they gave my son a new one with egg on it. I decided I would order a sandwich as well. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. My husband decided to eat my son's sandwich that was incorrect without the egg on it. We hadn't eaten anything since the afternoon the day before. We flew home to Oklahoma and unpacked, I went to the grocery store and ran a few errands. Back at the house around 7pm and I was cooking dinner. I was standing at the counter and had almost completed my husband's and son's dinner plates when my stomach started hurting. It was a really weird feeling and my husband looked at me and said, "honey, are you ok? I said, no, I think I'm going to get sick. I excused myself and came back a few minutes later and thought I had passed. Within 2 minutes I said, I'm going to get sick. Left and was in the bathroom for hours, getting sick and other things continually. It was so brutal. I finally had to text my husband from the bathroom telling him I needed him to take me to the emergency room. We finally got to the ER and they admitted me and gave me several medications trying to help me stop getting sick. They finally discharged me but I got sick again and they re-admitted me. I was re-admitted 3 different times. During my time in the hospital, my son, 16 years old, was at home sleeping. An hour after me being in the hospital my husband's phone rang. We couldn't hear our son but knew by the phone number it was him. He was getting violently ill as well. The only thing in common we ate was this. It was the egg in the sandwich. I spoke with the manager many times and the owner of that location. I have dozens of emails and was assured by manager that my medical bills would be paid. They have not paid anything and continually avoid my calls. My last conversation with owner was right before Thanksgiving when he called me and said he was sorry for what I went through. He said he was sorry for not calling me sooner but their insurance company told him not too. He went against their telling him not to call me and told me we were going to figure this out and he would call me the week after Thanksgiving. He has not called me since. ”
“I had a grilled chicken sandwich meal with a gluten free bun. Two hours later when I got home I started having diarrhea, vomiting and I passed out. I have now been at the hospital for two days for these on going issues. ”
“Bought groceries around 4pm. Steak (Angus Ny Strips and Salad were in the cart) Placed in the fridge for later consumption. When I took 1 piece of the raw steak, the one underneath had a grey color under it, but the one I went to cook was all pink. 9pm... rolls around, and I cook up the steak until brown all the way through, using salt and pepper to taste. Cut it up, mixed it into my salad. Used Italian dressing (olive garden). 1 hour later, I threw it all up. (I drank Ice Mountain water with it)
Bought steak last week, (exact type) cooked it, and ate it without any issues, but neither pieces of steak had any discoloration at all, so that could mean something.
Conclusion: Steak or the Salad caused me to get sick. ”
