Wildlife, Raw Meat, Illness - Buffet, Punta Cana La Altagracia Province

We stayed at the RIU Palace Punta Cana from July 30th until April 3rd and then our flight was canceled so we moved to the Caribe Deluxe Princess for an additional 2 nights. While staying there I started to experience diarrhea and blood in the stool but felt good overall. Once we arrived back to the state my 10 year old was very ill - we had to rush him to the hospital. He was hospitalized for nearly a week with Salmonella and E-coli. We ate exclusively at these hotels, so I cannot tell you where exactly the horror came from, but at the RIU Palace - the meat was almost always raw, the buffet was open for ours and people touch everything and it's gross and we had a peacock feather on our table at Caribe princess. The dining room had birds and cats - in fact the report is full of wildlife and animals which is beautiful but also high risk. | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Bloody Stool
