- comments: observed no verifiable health policy on site at time of inspection. Left template and instructed to maintain copies of health policy signed by all employees on site at all times. Priority foundation violation 7-38-010. No citation issued.

5. Procedures for responding to vomiting and diarrheal events
- comments: observed no kit and procedure on site for responding to vomit and diarrhea. Left one pager and instructed to maintain procedure and kit with all necessary supplies including a sanitizer rated as effective against norovirus on site at all times. Priority foundation violation 7-38-005.

- comments: observed one live roach near main cook line, one dead roach near cook line, and approximately 40 roach droppings underneath 3 compartment sink, behind water heater, and near employee restroom. Instructed to receive additional pest control service from licensed professional and maintain facility free of pests. Priority foundation violation 7-38-020(a). Citation issued.

- comments: observed rear door does not shut tightly creating gap between door and frame. Instructed to repair or replace to create a firm seal in order to prevent entry of pests.

Roly Poly Multigrain Bread was sold at Roly Poly Bakery, at Polmart, CT, New Britain Market Place, CT , Bernat’s Deli, MA and Golemo’s Market, MA. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this product.

The product comes in 20-ounce clear plastic bag marked with product information on top and bar-coded part number 5005-8723 on the bottom and was purchased prior to 04/11/2024.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered during an audit that a production employee used an egg wash instead of water to apply sunflower or oat ingredients on external product’s surface.

Production of the product has been suspended until CT Consumer Protection and the company are certain that the problem has been corrected.

Consumers who have purchased 20 ounce loafs of Roly Poly multigrain bread are urged to return the product to the place of purchase for full refund.
