UPDATE: Avanza Pasta products - recalled for production without inspection

Recall notice

United States

UPDATE: This recall is an update made on March 29, 2021 to reflect changes to the products included in the original recall dated March 20th, 2021.

The FSIS announced the recall of approximately 9,847 pounds of meat and poultry pasta products by Avanza Pasta, LLC. because they were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be frozen and in consumers’ freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

The meat and poultry ravioli and tortellini items were produced on various dates from October 5, 2019 through March 12, 2021. The products subject to recall do not bear an establishment number nor the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to restaurants, distributors, and retail locations in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. The updated list of products subject to recall can be found in the link below as well as the updated list of product labels.

The problem was discovered by FSIS during in-commerce surveillance activities. Consumers and members of the media with questions about the recall can contact Pavlos Loumbroukos, Operations Manager for Avanza Pasta, LLC., at (847) 584-2891.

Check the updated recall notice on the FSIS website www.fsis.usda.gov

Made tacos. The beans were kinda hard to get out of the can. I thought they were just really jammed in there. Woke up dry heaving and horrible cramps and loose stool. Been 3 days and I'm still not right. This wasn't food poisoning, this was something else.  | Symptoms: Nausea, Diarrhea, Vomiting, Stomach Pain, Fever, Cramps, Chills, Headache
