It's possible to get food poisoning from supermarket foods and products. The most commonly reported symptoms from Wegmans food poisoning are diarrhea and nausea. Recently Wegmans recalled food bar items over Listeria concerns. Listeria infection symptoms can include headache, stiff neck, and fever.

appearing to be a chunk of some hard plastic object that must have broken off at the factory. I am relieved I did not eat this! It would have posed a real health risk. I saved it and set it inside the empty can it was inside. Needless to say, this concerns me and makes me worried to buy the Wegmans brand of canned foods in the future. I feel this foreign object could have injured my digestive tract, had I not (fortunately) spotted it. How can I feel safe with any future canned products with the Wegmans brand name on them? I am worried, as anyone would be. So, now what should I do? Anything?

The FSIS has issued a public health alert for Wegmans Jamaican Jerk-style, raw, marinated chicken products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens. The marinade in the chicken products may contain milk, soy, and wheat, known allergens, which are not declared on the product label. Although the products … See More
are no longer for sale, they were distributed in Massachusetts, New York, and Pennsylvania. So far, no adverse reactions have been reported.

The affected products are:
1-lb. vacuum-packed plastic packages containing “Wegmans jamaican jerk style Chicken Thighs” with a use by date of “9/6/23.”
1-lb. vacuum-packed plastic packages containing “Wegmans jamaican jerk style Chicken Breast Cutlets” with a use by date of “9/6/23.”

These products were produced on August 16, 2023 and bear the establishment number "EST. P-7567" inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The problem was discovered when the establishment notified FSIS that it identified an equipment malfunction that may have led to potential cross-contamination with milk, soy, and wheat, known allergens, which are not declared on the product labels.

FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them.

In case you experienced harm from allergens or undeclared ingredients, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance. If symptoms persist, seek medical care.
