What is Colitis?

An inflamed colon (or large intestine) is also referred to as colitis. Colitis can be caused by food poisoning due to disease-causing organisms like Salmonella and Escherichia coli. The condition may also be a result of autoimmune reactions and a shortage of blood supply to the colon.

I’m the only one in the family who ate it (fries, mcchicken and sundae) on Thursday afternoon. I woke up with a fever Friday morning, severe abdominal cramps that comes and goes every 20 mins and diarrhea started Friday afternoon. My mom, her partner, and his daughter ate Buffalo wings here. She is now hospitalized with colitis possibly caused by food poisoning from their chicken.
