On Friday, July 14th around 3:30pm I visited the Chipotle in Sterling, VA. I ordered just a burrito bowl to with rice, fajitas, black beans, chicken, mild salsa, hot salsa, corn, sour cream, cheese, and lettuce. That was all I ate on Friday. On Saturday, for breakfast I had cereal with soy milk and later that evening I went to a wedding where I ate food around 6pm. Saturday night I started experiencing stomach pains and bloating, which I assumed was from overeating at the wedding. Around 1am Sunday morning I started experiencing headache, nausea, and threw up at 2am. That entire night I could not sleep and all of Sunday I experienced severe headaches, nausea, and threw up a couple times. I asked many of my friends that were at the wedding about my symptoms, but they said they felt fine. I tried eating light foods the entire day. Monday I again threw up when I woke up in the morning. Drinking any fluids especially water would cause a burning pain in my stomach and I had diarrhea. Tuesday was the first day I didn’t vomit, but I still experienced bloating, stomach pains, and nausea especially after I ate. Water and any fluids still caused burning. Mid-day Tuesday, my friends sent me a link of the Chipotle news stories about the food poisoning and at that point it hit me that I got food poisoning from the Sterling Chipotle. I was out of town, so I called my doctor’s office who advise I should try drinking mainly fluids and see if the symptoms subside over the next day and if not visit a local doctor. I put in a statement and report of the Sterling Chipotle with the Loudoun County Health Department. On Wednesday most of the nausea went away and on Friday, July 21st, a week after the event my symptoms went away and I resumed normal eating thankfully. | Symptoms: Diarrhea, Fever, Nausea, Vomiting, Headache, Bloating, Stomach Pain
