The FDA, along with CDC and state and local partners, investigated a multistate outbreak of Salmonella Stanley infections linked to wood ear mushrooms imported by Wismettac Asian Foods, Inc. of Santa Fe Springs, CA. Wood ear mushrooms are a dried mushroom, also commonly labelled or referred to as Kikurage, Dried Black Fungus, Dried Fungus, or Mu’er/Mu Er/Mu-Err.

As of November 4, 2020, the CDC declared that this outbreak is over. Wood ear mushrooms imported by Wismettac Asian Foods, Inc. were only sold to restaurants and were not available directly to consumers.

A total of 55 people infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Stanley was reported from 11 states. 6 people required hospitalization and no death has been reported.

symptoms of anything. Every day we get a 6$ premade rotisserie chicken from hannaford. To go with that I eat original humus, beef broth, and occasionally a can of refried beans. Yesterday or today one of those chickens was contaminated. I have not consumed any beef broth, hummus, or beans in 72 hours. Both yesterday and today the only thing I ate was the Hannaford rotisserie chicken and water. So either yesterday or today the chicken was contaminated. I have been on the toilet since 2pm and it’s now 11:37pm. I have not stopped violently shitting yet. Vomiting, nausea, severe stomach pain, diarrhea, and headache is my current symptoms and they have not eased up at all. Considering I have been on the same diet for five weeks, and in the last two days only ate one food item, there’s no doubt it was the rotisserie chicken. I noticed an off smell on the chicken we got yesterday but thought it was just that weird re-heated smell you get from the bag. Didn’t think anything of it because for weeks it’s been perfect and no issues. and woke up not feeling well. My lower and upper abdomen were extremely swollen and I had horrible cramping as the day progressed I felt worse and worse and my stomach was really messed up.

That evening I opened another container of Fairlife and it had the same odd after taste. I'll be honest because I've never had an issue I still didn't think this was the cause of my issue, in fact I thought my taste was off!

I spent the next few days staying away from straight milk but was using in my coffee and my lattes but was insanely bloated. My husband and I were thinking something was horribly wrong because I looked several months pregnant and had to wear leggings to work Friday. The whole situation was extremely unusual.

My daughter had a cookie and asked for some milk. Upon taking a sip she asked if if it was a different milk and I knew then that it wasn't my tastebuds it was the milk. She said she too felt it had a strange taste... luckily she only had a sip.

I've been absolutely miserable. My clothes don't fit due to bloating, I still have cramps and diarrhea. Both containers were good until June and are from batch 26-207. My husband suggested I check for recalls, come to find that the company has had hundreds of people get sick from this batch and denies issuesz I also learned that they have a lawsuit in regards to animal cruelty which is good to know.
