According to the last update by the FDA, three additional people have been reported and linked to this outbreak, making now the total of people sick 14. Eight people have required hospitalization and no deaths have been reported so far.

The FDA, CDC, state, and local agencies are investigating a multi-state outbreak of hepatitis A illnesses in 11 states: IA, IL, IN, KY, MI, MO, MN, NE, OH, PA, and WI linked to fresh non-organic blackberries from Fresh Thyme Farmers Market. Consumers are urged to throw away any product that was purchased in the month of September.
To date, 11 people have been reported sick. 6 people have been hospitalized and no deaths have been reported linked to this outbreak.
If you purchased and consumed blackberries from Fresh Thyme Farmers Market in the past 2 weeks and have not been vaccinated for the hepatitis A virus (HAV) or you think you have become ill from consuming blackberries, the FDA and CDC are recommending that you should consult your healthcare professional.
