- comments: observed tongs for food hanging on hand sink. Instructed person in charge to keep all utensils in-use in proper storage area when in use.

- comments: observed build up of grime and spillage under multiple shelves throughout facility, including; under coffee station, slurpee and soda station, and in walk-in cooler on floors. Instructed person in charge to clean, sanitize and maintain all areas.

- comments: observed excessive clutter of unnecessary broken storage racks in rear outdoor storage area. Instructed person in charge to organize and maintain for the prevention of pest.

- comments: observed approximatly 60 lbs assorted meat and cheese taquitos at improper temperatures in a prep cooler ranging in temperatures between 55. 9f to 57. 7f. All taquitos discarded. Approximate value at $120. 00. Priority violation 7-38-005 citation issued.

- comments: observed one door prep cooler, used for the above mentioned taquitos, not able to maintain adequate temperature. Cooler noted at 60. 6f with the above mentioned taquitos at 55. 9f and above. Cooler tagged held for inspection and must not use until repaired and maintains a temperature of 41f or below, c. D. P. H. Contacted for re-inspection and tag removal. Priority violation 7-38-005 citation issued.

- comments: noted employees personal belongings in the food preparation area. Must provide designated storage area not in food prep or dry food storage for employees personal belongings.

- comments: observed an employee and the owners mother in the food prep area within 6ft of each other and conversing without wearing a face covering. Also noted during the inspection a customer allowed to enter the business, self-serve a beverage, without wearing a face covering. Instructed all employees and customers are required to wear face coverings. Citation issued 7-28-060.

discovered during routine inspections by the MAPAQ and the Food Inspection Division of the City of Montreal. The company is recalling the product as a precautionary measure. To date, no illnesses have been reported in connection with the consumption of this product.

The recalled product is the company's "Bolognese" sauce, sold in unitary format. The recall affects all lots that do not have the phrase "Keep Refrigerated" on the label. The sauce was packaged in glass jars with a metal lid and sold refrigerated exclusively at the company's location at 950, boulevard Saint-Jean, in Pointe-Claire.

If you have this product at home and has not been kept refrigerated, do not consume it and return it to the store where it was purchased.

Furan and methylfurans are process contaminants that can form when food is heated. While consuming the contaminated product doesn't present an immediate health risk, long-term, continuous intake may pose a potential health risk. Therefore, exposure to these substances needs to be minimized.

Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batch from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale. Parents and guardians are advised not to use the implicated batch.

In case you experience harm from extraneous materials, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve issues and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance.
