The FSIS announced the recall of approximately 234,391 pounds of fully cooked ham and pepperoni products by Alexander & Hornung and the business unit of Perdue Premium Meat Company, Inc due to a possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. These products were shipped to retail locations nationwide in the United States.
FSIS is concerned that some products may be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase. There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of these products.
In case you are experiencing listeria monocytogenes symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, it is important to report it. It can help to detect & resolve outbreaks early and prevent others from being harmed, and it enables better surveillance.
