Campylobacter is a common cause of food poisoning. The bacteria often exist in raw chicken, raw milk, raw beef, and contaminated water. Symptoms of a campylobacter infection may emerge as soon as 24 hours after ingestionand commonly include diarrhea, stomach pain, fever, vomiting, and bloating.
